May 19th through May 22nd- the 4 day week- SPEECHES! Be ready and on time.
On Thurs and Friday (May 15 and 16) we read and interpreted A Midsummer Night's Dream in class. A quiz will follow Act III. Speeches begin on Monday, May 19th and go through the week...DON'T MISS your date! I have posted both hours lists so you can see when you are scheduled. Remember that your speech MUST be a minimum of 4 MINUTES, and try to limit it to 6. PRACTICE! Your visual should be a help, too. Put forth your best effort. |
May 12th through 16th
Work on speech and presentation Mon-Weds. Laptops in class. I need to see draft Monday. Tues- more work on laptops; prepare visual using Power Point or a poster. PP need to sent to me the day before your speech with NAME and HOUR on it so I can place it in a folder for quicker access. Weds- finish and practice! Practice! Practice! We start on Monday May 19th and I will first ask for volunteers; then I will randomly pull names. Thurs and Friday- more A Midsummer Night's Dream See below if you are missing a Sales Speech Doc. |

Monday - Poetry Recitation Intro. Pick out your mini-recitation poem from unit 7 of your textbook. Tuesday - Review poetic terms. In groups, find poetic terms in "The Weary Blues". Wednesday - Finish "The Weary Blues"; Real Life Examples of Poetic Devices with notes. Thursday - Mini Poetry Recitation Day Friday - Analyse "'Hope' is a thing with Feathers" By Emily Dickinson (What is the poetic device being used in the poem? What is being compared? What is Dickinson trying to say about hope?); Analyzing Nature poems in textbook (pg. 778-784); Homework: Page 784 #1-9 - Due Monday |
