We will be reading Beowulf during the week, but on Friday, before Independent Read time, you will have a short quiz on pps. 47-71. Be prepared.  Although we will be further along in classes by Weds, this allows for catching up for sick students, etc.  You might want to consider using the YouTube Seamus Hearney for review at home, too.

Tues- "Wiley Words" in Beowulf.  We carefully examined Anglo-Saxon poetry's form.  If you missed the notes, they are information needed for the final exam.  Ask a friend from class to loan you their good notes.  I also gave out a handout as well as showed examples of the kennings, metaphorical phrases due on September 22, 2014 in class.

Weds- More reading in Beowulf...watching for kennings now.  We will most likely get through 89 I think.

Thurs-Counselors to pull English students for college application talk...all hour.

Friday- Quiz on Beowulf, 47-71 before Indep Read time.  Bring nonfiction with you.

Monday, 9/22/14 due date for KENNINGS> be prepared to share.  These must be typed.
