This was a week of getting into Anglo-Saxon thinking.  We read and reviewed the Introduction of Beowulf on Monday and Tues...quiz to follow on Friday. It will be specific and short.
Tues- Thurs-All done in class and orally...Beowulf 3-57; We listened to Ms. Wynkoop's reading, some students willing to read, and Seamus Heaney himself reading Beowulf (from YouTube). If you need to know what was interpreted or discussed, find a fellow classmate who takes notes.
Fri- Designated Independent Reading Day, so bring in your non-fiction books to read.
Monday of next week, we start our study on the structure of Beowulf as an Anglo-Saxon poem.  You will be writing your own kennings, too!
