Sept 12-16 Make sure to get your vocab 1 unit (if absent on Monday)

Monday- finished the oral presentation of autopoems. I introduced the new word for unit 1 (see attached schedule) Due dates for vocab are Monday, Weds and Friday.  Always have it on those days in class. We talked about the beginning of the settlement of America, current U.S., and why they were established both in the North and the South.  
Tues-read the intro together in class. Pages 22-29. Take notes in notebooks. Share on Weds and start "The World on the Turtle's Back" and answer questions 1-3 and 7 on page 45.  Always be ready for a reading quiz.
Weds- reviewed notes and finished the intro with notes. Expect a check soon.  We also reviewed "CTS" and I will soon take a grade on vocab. HW: Read pps 38-45 and answer in notes questions 1-3; 7 with a little detail. I will call on someone to tell us what they learned tomorrow.
Thurs-Quiz most likely on reading. Review questions in class. Start reading and finish Equiano's "The Interesting Narrative of ..."pps. 82-88. Answer #6 only but be prepared to talk about 1-5 in class (89).
Friday- Review of ANTS and SYNS in class; Discuss and share the narrative read last night. NO HOMEWORK:>) We started the discussion of what makes a good leader.  We are now reading John Smith's History of Virginia starting on page 92.   We will pick it up on Monday, so with the exception of VOCAB, there is no homework.
