Monday_vocab (CTRW) and read John Smith's account of History of Virginia (91-99). WE also reviewed the differences between the Northern and Southern colonies. Reading quiz on on Weds including Smith and Bradford's works.
Tues- Reviewed bio of William Bradford. Read and discuss 101-110 with questions as posted in class. We will have a quiz on the two writings, Of Plymouth Plantation, and the History of VIrginia tomorrow.  Be prepared to use your notes and write in class. 
Weds- Quiz on above after vocab in context review

HW: Read pp. 114-119 about only Anne Bradstreet. We will do Taylor on Thurs together.
Read her poems, and answer in notes: What do YOU value most? Then consider the following: What did Anne Bradstreet value most? Due in class tomorrow.

Thurs- Review Bradstreet and her poems.  Power Point used on the poetry of both Bradstreet and Taylor We discussed "values" from HW; reread the Bradstreet poem, actually talking about real house fire experience.  
HW-review for vocab quiz; read 114 about Edward Taylor and then his poem on p 120 and answer #3 on p 121 in notes.

Fri- Vocab 1 quiz. We will cover the poem, "Huswifery," tomorrow.  We will also finish with a famous sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." That will conclude our study of Early American literature. If we can discuss openly and indicate mastery of this unit orally, then there will NOT be another quiz on it.  What can you add to enrich in class?
