Monday, we reviewed what we studied in Beowulf by video.  This 30 mins helps to give a visual framework to the odd names and places we have been introduced.  We talked about differences, too.
Tues-Anglo-Saxon poetry.  What makes it different from other poetry we have studied?  We worked with a short Wynkoop discussion at the beginning of the hour; there were 2 handouts, and we continued our scansion and exploration into Beowulf examining the mechanics of the verse...THIS IS on the FINAL, so get the handouts and notes, please.
Homework is to write a 5 line poem for Friday, to recite in class. Rubric is attached
Wednesday- Bring Independent Reads to class! This time is blocked ONLY for this reading.  Please come prepared.
Thursday-More study of Beowulf , starting at page 47-??? A quiz will follow after page 71.  Be prepared.
Friday- recitation of student poems, so make it good! :>)We will pick up where we stopped yesterday in Beowulf with poem, somewhere around pages 559-61, depending on which hour.  Are you paying attention to what devices in the poem would make for a good literary analysis paper?
On MONDAY- more Beowulf up to page 71; expect a quiz after we finish 71.
